This antique table from Italy has a halved-octagon shaped top (comprised of a single board) which slightly overhangs the apron below that houses a pair of small recessed-panel drawers at front, and a petite recessed-panel faux-drawer at each of the canted/angular ends. Six carved-wood legs give rise to the table, each with stylized knees, squared with outlined trim and tapering towards their feet. The walnut is rich and warm, with a beautifully aged patina and character from its centuries old age. The backside of the table remains un-adorned so best use would be against a wall or other object. This 18th century Italian halved-octagon table would be perfect in a living room, library, or entry foyer, perhaps underneath a mirror with decorative pieces atop. See less
