In period fashion, Mogensen used loose cushions for this sofa, which would be precedent for his later leather sofas. Mogensen went on to design some of the most renowned furniture designs of the 1950s and 1960s. The model 203 sofa was the first sofa Mogensen ever designed for Fredericia which the same year had been acquired by Mogensen's close friend and colleague Andreas Graversen. It was the beginning of one of the worlds most successful pairings with Fredericia still making many of Mogensens perennial chair and sofa designs. In 2014, Fredericia re-released the sofa as ‘No.1’ to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Børge Mogensen.

While re-released in 2014 it is rare to find an early production version of the original 1955 sofa and it is just very special to own one. The sofa is solid and sturdy raised on teak legs. The seat cushion is spring loaded and in very good condition. The sofa need to get re-upholstered. See less
