Made around the turn … Read more Truly beautiful, antique, Cambodian Silver elephant betel nut box. Made in the traditional Khmer silver work. Made around the turn of the century. Each box is hand-formed of sheet silver and then hand chased and repousse added over copper. This betel box has a lot of detail, right down to the tusks. Use the zoom feature to see.

These boxes traditionally held betel leaves, nuts, leaves, tobacco and/ or ointments. Original condition. I made no attempt to clean as can be seen in the pictures of some residue at the bottom inside. Very rare to find this large size. Your chance to own a piece of history and beauty.

Measurements: 7" long x 5 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide
Marks: I couldn't find any marks, but there is so much decoration that I might be overlooking it.

This box is in good antique condition. Has typical signs of use such as light surface scratches and residue (as mentioned earlier). No obvious damage. See less
