Henri De Toulouse Lautrec ( 1864 - 1901 ) The French painter, printmaker, and illustrator who's immersion in the colorful and theatrical life in Paris in The 19th Century, allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant and provocative images of the modern sometimes decadent affairs of those times.

Toulouse Lautrec recorded the style of his period so perfectly that our impression of Late 19th Century Paris is populated with his dancers, actors, prostitutes, and clowns. His lithographs, especially his posters, made France and the world conscious of his subjects and his art. The posters with their daring freedom of line, color, and composition, had an overwhelming influence on the art of his time. His revolutionary use of color in lithography helped to make these commercial products into works of graphic art in their own right.
