Fitted at the bow with an inkwell and chrysanthemum lid, fronted by a removable screw. Measures 8" long x 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/4" tall. Good condition.

L’Escalier de Cristal was a Parisian firm created about 1800 by Mme veuve Desarnaud. The firm is famous for its decorative objects combining crystal or porcelain with bronze. The firm was awarded a gold medal at the 1819 Paris Exposition des Produits de l’Industrie for an outstanding gilt-bronze mounted crystal dressing table.
