Petrified wood stump is a natural product. Excavated, polished and originating from Java, Indonesia, this is meant for indoor use.
The petrification process is volcanic. Volcanic ash covers the trees, and the minerals in the ash replace the cell tissue of the trees, basically turning the trees from plants to stone. This process takes millions of years. Found in the mountain ridges, paddy fields, and rivers near the volcanoes where these pieces have been buried under the volcanic ashes and soil, minerals help form the colors.
Petrified wood from this particular area is estimated to be between 5-25 million years old. See less
