Perfect for any bird lover or even anyone who had parakeets when young, these birds have hung in the living room and the bedroom. These are a pair of classically framed chromolithographs called Parakeets by Rutledge for John Cassell’s book circa 1880s from “Cassell’s Canaries, and Cage Birds”.
External frame dimensions: 14.5” W x 3/4” D x 17 3/4” H.
- The frame is 3/4” wide.
- The matt is 3 1/2” wide.
- The matt’s inside dimensions: 7 1/2” W x 10” H.
These are also quality frames with light “gold” detail as pictured. One shows a set of parrots, the other a set of parakeets.
We purchased them from Clary & Co Antique’s on Bleecker St in New Yorks West Village. Author is John Cassel, Artist is Rutledge (not available as a selection on artist dropdown menu).
