It stands about 11 inches high to the top of the antique socket and will have a hi-lo switch fastened to the cord before I ship it. The antique socket is standard-based and will take any wattage bulb you care to use. The lamp is shown in these photos with a 15-watt bulb in place.
A larger bulb will, of course, make the dark blue shade sit a bit higher. The shade is new, and the fabric is lined with a white piece of thin plastic of some sort. If you attach black paper to that lining, on the inside, it will eliminate the see-through quality and give the lamp a more dramatic look.

Very fine work, featuring some exotic birds in flight and various floral elements. Not entirely expert in establishing provenance, I'd say "probably from the Orient." Persia comes to mind.

The decorative handles are made of wood, stained and waxed.

Some of the silvering remains, although it's difficult to tell just how much of it was originally silvered.

By any account, an exceptional item!
