Gaston Herbemont (France Born 1883). Created in Marble, bronze, and Terra Cotta this very popular Art Deco young girl with cherries in her hair is the epitome of Art Deco, a streamlined, simplified, clean, and strong linear image. In the "Young Girl with Cherries in her Hair", the hair is a geometrical pattern of lines and architectural widow peak front and back. The size is 18" tall and 5.5" by 5.5" block size.
The white marble is in very good condition with a honed, mat finish and the polished black marble has a loss to the veins at the base, see detailed photos.
