Beautiful mid-century Yosemite winter landscape by listed California artist Rowena Lung Alcorn (American, 1905-1996). The splendor of Yosemite in the snow is featured in this painting, which depicts a calm stream winding through snowy trees and mountain peaks.
Signed "Alcorn" lower left. Dated "March 1952" in pencil on verso.
Displayed in a white washed rustic wood frame.

Rowena Alcorn was considered `Victorian Bohemian' artist. Before turning 20, Rowena Lung Alcorn left her native Tacoma for Santa Barbara, Calif., to live with a sister and study art. The beauty of the ocean and hills, and the exposure to other young painters had a lasting effect.
