From warming up modern interiors and adding panache to formal areas, this hand-woven wool antique Caucasian kilim rug seamlessly blends with eclectic areas and is well suited for a range of interiors. This is two sections woven together to create one rug. Tribal weavers did not have the space for larger looms. Many of the weavers were nomadic and the old story is that their tents were between four and six feet wide, so the rugs could be no wider than that. To make larger pieces such as this, they would make the two halves separately and then stitch them together. Some buyers assume rugs likes these are two runners that have been joined, but the designs prove otherwise.
