Antique stoneware jug used to make moonshine or whiskey in the early 1900s. The jug was made by the Sewer Pipe & Stoneware Co. (Sp&S co.) of White Hall, Illinois. They began manufacturing stoneware around the 1850s and introduced steam power to the town in 1876.
The factory stencil painted number “5” in cobalt blue on the front.
