After an initial apprenticeship with his father, Johann Elias Ridinger has received a manual training in painting technology at the Ulm painter Christian Resch since around 1711 and is suitable for the basics of drawing art. In 1713/14 the young artist moved to Augsburg to the animal and plant painter Johann Falch. In this first Augsburg period, copies are created according to older masters and the first animal, especially horse representations. Recommendations by the Augsburg painter Gabriel Spitzel lead Ridinger from 1715 to 1718 to the Brandenburg Reichstag-envoy, the Count Metternich in Regensburg, which enables him to study animal depictions in Jagden and in the riding school. Returned to Augsburg around 1718/19, Ridinger becomes a student of the battle painter Georg Philipp Rugendas on the city takadmia. With around 1600 stitches, etchings and stencil leaves, Ridinger creates an immense work of baroque printing technology. Topics of his graphic creation mainly represent the representations of animals and hunts, which he stands according to his own compositions and according to the templates of other artists. In addition to these, he devotes himself to fables, genre representations, portraits and religious scenes in his work. The following works should be emphasized from the multitude of his graphic consequences: "Presentations of the most excellent princes or the noble huntability" from 1729, "Consideration of the wild animals \." from 1736, "Illustration of the hunting animals with the same \. Faehrten and Spuhren "from 1740 and" the paradise ". His picturesque work includes paintings with self -portraits, hunting landscapes and animal ravings. The Kunstverlag in Augsburg operated by Johann Elias Ridinger will continue to be continued by his two sons, the engraver and simultaneous employees of her father Martin Elias and Johann Jakob Ridinger in 1767.
