A monumental etched glass Art Deco style table lamp by Charles Shefts of Carved Glass By Shefts depicting a nude woman astride a horned animal in the clouds in a nod to Greek mythology (Europa on the back of Zeus turned into a bull). Perfect for a Taurus.
The Shefts brothers (Charles, Sam and Isidore) were known for their elaborate carvings in glass as well as stone and produced custom room dividers, dining tables, headboards and windows in their Bronx workshop. Their creations can be found in a number of fashionable restaurants including Tavern on the Green and Old Ebbitt Grill as well as in the Smithsonian.
