Antique early 19th century Spode porcelain ice pail with hand painted botanical specimens, circa 1815.
Flowers depicted on the bowl include gum cistus (brown-eyed rockrose from the Mediterranean) and spider wort. And on the lid iris-leaved sisyrinchium (narrow-leaf blue-eyed-grass) and hoop petticoat narcissus.
Measures 9 1/4" across over handles x 7 1/2" diameter x 8" tall. Good condition - wear to gilding on inner rim, no liner.
