Portrait is an Original China Ink Drawing realized by Hermann Paul (1864-1940). Good condition on a little paper. No Signature, stamp on the back of The "Vente Galerie de Chartres". Some pencil notes on the back of the artwork. René Georges Hermann-Paul (Paris 1864 - Les Saintes- Marie-de-la-Mer 1940). A highly controversial painter and caricaturist, he produced much for L'Assiette au Beurre until its closure in 1912. During the Great War he drew memorable plates for Le Rire rouge, Le Journal and La Bajonnette. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
