Signed lower right, 'Tapie' for Viva Flower Tapie (American, 1897-1993) and painted circa 1925.
Viva Flower Tapie was born in Sibley, Iowa and lived in Oakland, California where she exhibited with success at the Oakland Art Gallery, later the Oakland Museum, (1939), before moving to Chico where she lived until 1945. Viva Tapie is listed in Edan Hughes, "Artist's in California, 1780-1940".
