This Fenton Carnival Glass Bowl is a gorgeous iridescent green. The design on the inside of the bowl is known as “stippled rays” as they resemble the rays of the sun emanating from the center to the edge. The rim of the bowl is known as a “tight candy ribbon edge” or “ruffled edge” with varying heights called arches. This piece is a stunning example of Aurora glass which reached the height of its popularity in the 1920s when electric lighting was scarce because its shimmery finish caught the light in even in darkest of corners. It was nicknamed “Carnival glass” in the 1950s when pieces were often awarded as carnival prizes.
So colorful and elegant... pictures cannot do it justice! Measuring 7½ inches in diameter at the top and 2¾ inches tall, this would be an impressive addition to any collection.

There is a bubble in the glass that was created during the manufacturing process which does not effect the structural integrity of the glass. Displays exceptionally well from all angles. less
