The trees with their beautiful canopy of leaves fills foreground with color, while behind them an idyllic landscape of green hills under blue skies unfolds.

Displayed in period giltwood frame with linen liner.

Nell Walker Warner was born in Richardson County, Nebraska and was a graduate of the Lexington, MO Women’s College and studied at the Los Angeles School of Art and Design. She studied locally with Nicolai Fechin, Fritz Werner, and Paul Lauritz and was art curator of the Tuesday Afternoon Club. She moved to Carmel, CA in 1952 and lived there until 1970. Los Angeles Times art critic Anthony Anderson stated that she was one of the ablest floral painters America has produced. In addition of her floral still lifes, her work includes landscapes of California and New England coast. See less
