KPM was know for producing porcelain adorned with old fashioned flowers. The market changed and Trude Petri-Raben (1906-1998) was hired by KPM (Konigliche Porzellan-Manufactur) to modernize their product. She designed the Urbino line of porcelain following the Bauhaus aesthetic of clean and modern lines. This pitcher is from the 1930's Urbino line. It is marked 16/27. There are many pieces from this line on the MoMA website. It is still in production.
This water pitcher came from a home in Berkeley, CA whose owners collected true Mid Century Modern furniture and accessories.
