Unique large mid-century modern meets art deco sculptural geometric ceramic vase by Ella Sherman. Finished with a sleek slate gray glaze. Has drain holes on the bottom. Signed and labeled Ella Sherman on the bottom.
Ella Sherman studied sculpture with Tony Smith at Hunter College. She studied painting, drawing and sculpture at the Art Students League. She was the costume designer at the iconic NYC theater company La Mama. Her ceramics, jewelry and sculptures have been exhibited and sold throughout the NYC area including at the Phyllis Harriman Gallery at ASL, Salmagundi Club, and the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. In 2018, she was a recipient of recipient of the Schneider Merit Award from the Art Students League. Sherman is also an Associate Member of the National Sculpture Society..
