Femme a la Mantille Blanche
Pablo Picasso
Year: 1958
Medium: Poster
Edition: N/A
Size: 22 x 26 in. (55.88 x 66.04 cm)
Facing left with her eyes closed and head slightly lowered, the young woman in this Pablo Picasso print wears a lace veil covering her auburn hair that trails over her shoulders and onto her blue cloak. Reminiscent of depictions of the Virgin Mary found throughout Christian art, the blue and white color scheme and the prayer pose that the woman is positioned in insinuate her association with the saint.
