This towering pair of French 19th century altar torches would have previously been lit by fire, now they have been cleaned and rewired to US electrical standards with UL listed parts to function as dramatic wall sconces. The posts feature sturdy wood and metal for mounting to the wall with raised gilt brass ornamentation of cherubs and the initials IHS, a Christogram, gracing the top of the polished brass diffusers. The torches are essentially two distinct halves: reeded brass columns of the upper body attach to the wooden post just above a metal bracket fixing the torches to a wall for stability. A mahogany tone of the wooden post complements the metal beautifully. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look. Each light uses one standard-base bulb. Sold as a pair.
