English late 19th century pedestal writing desk with two faux drawers in the apron just under the ebonized top; the style and proportions would be adaptable to use as a console table or sofa table as well. The support legs have an elegant hourglass silhouette which end in short scrolls at the edges, lifted from the floor by short plinth bases and bun feet. A flat stretcher in between has an interesting diamond shape, offering a bit more surface area or foot rest, depending on how one uses the table.
