With back splat carved with Ruyi-cloud and auspicious creature motifs, single-piece round back rail, double-stretchers to side and rear legs, sturdy and well-balanced structure, 19th century, Qing dynasty, Shanxi province, Yumu (northern elm) made.
A hard-to-find charming set, comfortable to sit, in overall good condition with age-consistent wear and patina.
