This Fernand Leger vintage 1976 Modernist lithograph print " The Big Barge " 1923, is a very special and unique piece to add to your collection.
Fernand Leger ( 1881 - 1955 ) The French painter, sculptor, and filmmaker is known for creating his own form of Cubism which he gradually modified into a more figurative, populist style. His boldly simplified treatment os Modern subject matter has regarded him as one of the most important forerunner artists of Pop Art. Artworks by Leger are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
The lithograph print was printed in Japan in 1976. It features an artwork image originally created by Leger in 1923 titled " The Big Barge ". The print is a page from an authentic vintage artists publication. The lithograph print plate image is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand on 3 corners. This print is suitable for framing.
The lithograph print image measures 9" W X 5 3/4" H, on a page that is 9 1/4" W X 12 1/2" H. There is unrelated text on the reverse back side of the page that refers to a different artwork image.
It is in excellent vintage with very light signs of handling. It has never been framed. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.
