Vintage Royal Copenhagen 1145 Sandman Figurine Boy with Umbrella, Ole Lukøje Hans Christian Anderson
This porcelain figurine is by Royal Copenhagen and dates to 1969-1973. It features a boy with the umbrella, is #1145, and called The Sandman. It is based on the character Ole Lukøje, from literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen based upon a folk tale telling of a mysterious mythic creature of the Sandman who gently takes children to sleep and, depending on how good or bad they were, shows them various dreams....
The figurine is 6-3/8" tall with a base about 3" by 2-3/4". There are no chops, no cracks and no crazing on this exemplar.
