Run for almost 100 years by the Stanley family, the windmill was supplying flour and animal food throughout the Victorian era, and worked on until 1957. Still open for visitors. The mill and museum are open all year round on Tuesdays and Fridays mornings from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm and 10am – 4pm on the 1st Sunday of the month April to September. They run several fairs throughout the summer.

William Hyams (1878-1952 was born in Portsmouth, England but spent his childhood in Guernsey. Studied at Brighton School of Art. Spent some years at sea which gave him the opportunity to paint marine subjects. Exhibited at the R.A., R.I., in the provinces, and abroad. Represented in Brighton and Hove Art Galleries. Painted many Sussex scenes, and was Chairman of the Brighton Arts Club in 1947.
