After studying art in Osaka, he began a career as a painter and art teacher.
At that time, Yasukawa mainly created figurative motifs, such as landscapes and portraits.
In 1965 he went to Paris, where he met the pianist and then wife Ruriko.
In 1971 he moved definitively to France with her.
His pictorial style changes radically following the change of place: the result is a complete work of abstract works, some of which lyrical in their formal language, but above all geometric-celliar.
Even his cultural background, linked to Chinese and Japanese philosophy and poetry, plays a special role in Yasukawa's art.
Since 1974 it has been represented in France, Italy and Japan in personal and collective exhibitions, including the exhibitions of the "Salon Comparaisons", the exhibition "Grands et Jeunes d'Aujoud'hui" and those of the "car salon" in France.
He received the "International Prijs Voor Schilderkunst" in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, and in 1976 the bronze medal of the "Prix Européen de Peinture d'ostende" in Belgium.
