This delightful pine apothecary originally served as a shop counter or storage cabinet. Counters similar to this were used throughout shops in the European countryside during the 1800's, and are a great find today as a way to incorporate old world charm and craftsmanship into a modern home. Since it is free-standing, it would be ideal as a kitchen island (raising it up is simple to do), but also perfect for a quilter, crafter, to use in a bathroom as a large vanity; the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. This pine counter ready to be used as it has been professionally restored, all drawers run smoothly and it has been given a wax finish. Any nicks, scratches, distress and signs of wear are due to generations of use and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this pine apothecary. See less
