Collector's quality antique Persian rug. Circa 1920. Wool pile on cotton foundation. 3'2"x 5'1"
Antique hand-knotted Persian rug featuring a central dark blue and ivory medallion with intricate floral and geometric patterns in red, white, and blue tones, bordered by a detailed, red-toned repeating motif. Fereghan rugs typically showcase a distinct, elaborate composition.
Central medallion features a bold, multi-layered geometric medallion branching out with highly stylized, curvilinear floral motifs.
Field composition is set against a striking ivory colored field that provides an elegant contrast to the vivid red and deep navy elements.
The color palette is dominated by a harmonious balance of deep indigo blue, brick red, ivory, and soft accent tones.
A beautifully detailed geometric and floral pattern border frames the entire composition.
