Engraved on the underside with the aforementioned, along with a production or pattern number 5924/2. A sublime, simply refined and sophisticated design with linear caged fretting to the surround body, with ball feet for offset support and a design esthetic in one. The caged section has a center divider, with the long armature going straight upward towards upper section, whereupon, top of wine bottles fit securely, as the mechanism raises almost an inch in order to place bottles within and then lower the top holder, snuggly over the tops, while the center clasp fits down over a metal loop, and locks in place, especially in transit, to and fro from bar/kitchen area to table setting/service., given the weight once wine bottles are set within. The carrier is topped off with a larger looped handle. The only wear we see is to top handle, we can't ascertain wether better polishing was needed, as this item looked as if it had ever been polished, within the years. otherwise the rest is in excellent condition, except for minor little wee dot to inner sanctum base of caged area, i.e where bottles sit within. A quasi English Traditional to American and Georgian like esthetics, BUT the simplicity and refined style lends itself into the a transitional setting of contemporary circles, but ensconced in quality. From an Upstate, NY Estate. See less
