Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. There is a mark on each leaf where it has rubbed as it was pulled out and both leaves are a slightly different color from the main top as so often happens in this type of table where the main top gets light and the leaves do not. First, let’s just address the STUNNING vertical grain in the teak! It is absolutely gorgeous and framed with wide edge banding! And this table is so versatile! It’s fabulous utilized as a smaller rectangle table when dining for two or four or as a breakfast nook or game table BUT if you want to have friends or extended family over and need more places to seat guests, simply lift the top and the draw leaves pull out from under the table and attach at the ends to create a larger space and more seating. AWESOME!! The smooth clean lines of this Scandinavian Modern table will blend beautifully with many interior design styles from Danish Modern to modern country or a mountain rustic house, and from mid-century modern to industrial or a home with a western flair. It is perfect for a growing family, someone who loves to entertain, or someone that likes to have options and versatility! Plus, the chair combinations are limitless.

Folke Ohlsson is a Scandinavian modern Swedish furniture designer who was born in 1919, raised, and educated in Sweden. But in 1953 Ohlsson moved to the United States and established Dux, Inc. an American iteration, or namesake of the Scandinavian furniture industry’s largest manufacturer of upholstered furniture. This creation of an American company producing Scandinavian furniture may be for what Folke Ohlsson is best remembered. Well, that and the invention/introduction of knock-down furniture which is still used today by the likes of Ikea! Ohlsson headquarter the company in San Francisco for three years before moving it to Burlingame, California in 1956. Over the years other great designers i.e., Bruno Mathsson and Edward J Wormley did designs for the company, but it was the designs of Folke Ohlsson’s armchair and sofas that were prized for their traditional details and modernist simplicity not to mention formal recognition and awards. Folke Ohlsson passed on October 23, 2002.
