Antique Middle Eastern Moorish mirror in the Turkish Syrian Ottoman style.
Sensational large Levantine finely inlaid with white shell, each piece of inlay is out lined with pewter wire.
The intricate design crown over a rectangular frame surrounded with hand carved wood border, the mirror is flanked by two ornate ornaments, all resting on two inlaid feet.
This mirror is one of the best levantine mirror we have seen in years, specially because the artist who designed this mirror has created three dimensional with Moorish mosaic inlaid of rectangular form with feet and tapering crest, decorated in mashribiyya, the crest in openwork with interlaced vines.
The crown and sides are very finely handcrafted in floral and geometric Moorish design.
Very unique piece, fabulous find.
The lattice Moorish woodwork is very fine.
The crown is bending a little bit and in the Middle East I was told that more the crown bent more the mirror is old.
