The 2 on the base are wider, but neither extend to the other side. Overall the full piece is structurally sound. The horns, ears and legs appear to never have been broken as there are no signs of repair. They are strong and do not move when pressing on them. The tail is a mystery. Most more modern wood gazelle sculptures have a longer more tapered tail ( but not really that long ). Whether it was the artists choice to carve the tail in a more 'bobbed' fashion or whether the tip of the tail once broke off I do not know. less
