A still life in the Dutch Renaissance style but with 21st century themes, Marina combines pears, an old stop watch, liqueur bottle, earthenware jug and $20 bill to create a still life evocative of the 18th Century Dutch Masters. The items are not rare but while the fruit is more a luxury now for some, the $20 is shrinking in value. The coins are indistinguishable as to value. The painting is signed in blue on the lower left. The stop watch says time is up! The frame is antique goldtone, restrained in style and small to reflect the age of supply chain issues.. The painting was created on wooden panel in the old master style. The painting is 12" tall by 9" wide. Overall, the framed work is 13.50" tall by 10.50" wide and 1.5" deep. Certainly a conversation starter for your dining room, or a contemplative piece for your study/office.
