The armrests and … Read more Beautiful pair of B35 Lounge chairs from the first owner who bought them in the early 1970's. The armrests and chrome plated tubular frame has been polished and the leather has been treated with leather polish. The chairs are in great vintage condition as can be seen in the images. Designed by Marcel Breuer for Thonet in 1928 - 1929.

In the "B35" armchair, Breuer employed seemingly continuous steel runners as the chair's frame. The seat and back were upholstered in simple canvas, and the armrests padded with lacquered wood. Both the seat and armrests are dramatically cantilevered without vertical supports, emphasizing both the tensile strength and the slenderness of the tubular steel construction.
