This vintage mid 20th century lithograph (offset) depicts a Salisbury, England landscape with the Salisbury Cathedral after the watercolor by the listed 19th century British artist W. Hyams. Salisbury Cathedral, formally the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is an Anglican cathedral in Salisbury, England. The cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese of Salisbury and is the seat of the Bishop of Salisbury.
William Hyams (1878-1952 was born in Portsmouth, England but spent his childhood in Guernsey. Studied at Brighton School of Art. Spent some years at sea which gave him the opportunity to paint marine subjects. Exhibited at the R.A., R.I., in the provinces, and abroad. Represented in Brighton and Hove Art Galleries. Painted many Sussex scenes, and was Chairman of the Brighton Arts Club in 1947.
