Crafted in France circa 1860, the antique cast iron planter is decorated with raised floral garlands, scrolling foliage, and decorative cartouches, reflecting the elaborate ornamentation of the Rococo style.

The oval body features a gently scalloped rim embellished with a continuous border of small curled motifs. Each side is adorned with intricately cast floral swags and scrolling decorations, while the ends are fitted with graceful branch-form handles. The jardinière rests on four short, scrolled feet, giving the substantial iron composition an attractive architectural presence.

The original weathered finish displays layers of faded paint, natural oxidation, and traces of moss, creating a rich patina in muted gray, brown, and rust tones. A drainage hole in the bottom allows for planting flowers, herbs, or seasonal greenery.

Ideal for a garden terrace, courtyard, or covered patio, this decorative antique planter would also make a distinctive centerpiece filled with greenery. The jardinière is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining its authentic weathered patina and beautifully detailed cast ornamentation.
