The switch for the light bulb is a little hinky but does work - the circular florescent light works great but you need to hold the switch down for a couple of seconds for it to fire up (which if I remember correctly, is kind of how fluorescents were). The are some tears in the lining of the shade which could be repaired - although it is not noticeable when the light is off and barely noticeable when the light is on.
