A lovely set of bakelite handled / silver plate knives and forks for serving fish -- 6 place settings in … Read more A lovely set of bakelite handled / silver plate knives and forks for serving fish -- 6 place settings in a satin lined case with the trade stamp of "James Walker Ltd, the London Jeweller". Knives are marked with EPNS indicating plated wares. No marks on the forks.

Our research shows that the firm was founded in 1902 and, via subsequent acquisitions and mergers, grew to be one of the largest jewelry retailers in the UK. We believe this set was fabricated in the 1920s or 1930s when such pieces were so very popular.

Dimensions: box, 9"W x 7.75"D x 1.5"H; knives, .75"W x 7.75"H; forks, .75"W x 6.5"H.

All pieces are in excellent, possibly unused, condition. No celluloid discoloration, chips, nor cracks, no wear to the silver nickel plating. The box is structurally sound but with noticeable finish wear (as shown).
