Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a public garden located in the northeast of Paris, France, in the city's 19th arrondissement.
With nearly 25 hectares, the park is one of the largest green spaces in Paris. Inaugurated on April 1, 1867, during the last years of the reign of Napoleon III, it is an achievement of the engineer Adolphe Alphand. This English garden imitates a mountain landscape: rocks, cliffs, torrents, waterfalls, grotto, mountain pastures, and belvederes.
