This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Antique Early American Country Primitive Fireside - Hearth Stool. Circa Mid 19th Century. It is Completely Handmade. The Lathe Turned Legs are Made Out of a Hardwood that I Believe to be Maple. The Top - Seat is Made out of a Thick Slab of Indigenous North American Chestnut Wood. It has Very Old Paint and Varnish Surfaces that have Developed a Wonderful Authentic Aged Texture - Color & Patina that Cannot be Duplicated. It Displays Beautifully. It is in Very Good Overall Cosmetic and Sound - Sturdy Condition.
I purchased this piece on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Central Down East Coastal Maine Region
It Measures Overall 9 1/2 inches Tall x 10 1/2 inches Long x 7 1/2 Wide.
The Top Plank - Seat Measures 9 7/8 inches Long x 6 3/4 inches Wide x 1 1/2 inches Thick.
