Regiment Provisoire Croate is an original drawing in ink and watercolor realized by by Herbert Knotel in 1930/40s. Good condition except for being aged. The artwork is depicted through strong lines in well-balanced conditions. Herbert Knotel was a german artist, son and pupil of the famous uniformologist and military historian Richard Knotel. He served as officer under Marshal Hindenburg in the Prussian Army, and being wounded in the WWI. After the war he came back to Berlin to continue his work, run the Berlin Zeghaus Museum and preserve the family business. His drawings are considered some of the most faithful, refined and punctual representations of the military uniforms of the Modern Age. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
