Chinese Xuan stone double sided gongshi, cumulus and thunder cloud form. The cumulus side is a smooth, anfractuous shaped, lustrous, white color with sparse pink, grey and umber coloring, some pitting and fossilized spongy encrustations within its many unique folds and recesses. The thunder cloud side is a predominately grey color with sand and white highlights, in a semi-planar rhomboid shape with myriad voids and recesses, spongiform fossils and heavy pitting through out. The gongshi is mounted on a polished, custom fitted, Chinese hongmu base. Circa ROC no later than mid century.
Wood stand: 2 1/8" high x 3 3/4" wide x 3 1/4" deep,
stone: 6 1/2" high x 3 3/4" wide x 2 1/2" deep.
