Rare carved wood sculpture in the manner of Claude Clodion. This extremely well carved wood figure might have been part of a larger carved work of art or made to stand individually. Carved in France in the 18th C, the figures are undoubtedly from the mind of Clodion as is the subject matter. Probably preparatory work for a terracotta version.
