It comes from the Classic Victorian Era - Circa Late 19th Century. This Sled was Designed for a Single Rider. It was Very Common for These Types of Toy Sleds to be Model Named or Titled. This Style - Model of Sled was Referred to as a "Racing Sled" So is was Appropriately Titled "WINNER". It Still Retains its Original Hand Painted and Varnished Features. The Underside of the Sled is Signed by the Maker PARIS MFG. CO. in the Town of Paris Maine. The Sled is Made Out of a Hardwood that I Believe to be Maple with Hand Wrought Iron Runners. It is in Very Nice All Original Condition and Displays Beautifully. The Red Painted Panel Seat Does have Some Minor Paints Chips - Loss. I purchased this item on one of my recent picking trips in Down East Coastal Maine Region.
It measures 40 1/2 inches Long x 11 1/4 inches Wide x 4 inches Tall at Top Rail - 5 inches Tall Including Iron Curls on the Front Tips. See less
