Above the cabinet … Read more A 19th century French Japonisme style corner cabinet with sturdy burnt bamboo frame and solid rosewood panels. Above the cabinet is an open shelf supported by decorative bamboo fretwork and topped with a cast brass acorn finial in the corner. The cabinet has a small dovetailed drawer above a solid rosewood door and opens to one fixed shelf. Several small cast bronze Menuki samurai sword medallions are tacked to the face of the cabinet for decoration, a few are missing and some are broken. Both the drawer and the door have working locks with one key. Exceptional quality and craftsmanship. All original.
