The architect and designer Ferdinand Kramer designed the chair B403 for Thonet in1927. Developed during the construction of the New Frankfurt, it was initially used in vocational education. As opposed to desk chairs and delicate coffee house chairs from Thonet, the Kramer Chair was designed for comfort and stability. The legs and struts are made of bentwood, while the backrest and seat are made of dark stained, varnished plywood. This pair of chairs are in original found condition. Considering that they are 95 years old, there are just a few scratches and niks. The front corner of the seat on the second has a small nik. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution
