Circa Early 19th Century. … Read more This really is a Rare & Beautiful Original Matched Pair of Late Georgian Era Fireside Footstools. Circa Early 19th Century. Each is Completely Hand Made. They have Classic Style Lathe Turned Solid Mahogany Legs. The Tops are Upholstered in Very Old Leather - Possibly Even Original with Actual Horse Hair Stuffing. They Still Retain their Original Varnished Finish in Excellent Condition with Beautiful Naturally Aged Color & Patina. The Leather Tops have Developed a Wonderful Authentic Age and Use Acquired Look that Cannot Be Duplicated. The Leather is Still Relatively Soft and Pliable and I Taken the Extra Step to Use a High Quality Leather Treatment - Conditioner to Enhance and Preserve. Note Also that the Upholstery Tacks have Solid Brass Tops. The Set is in Very Good Overall Cosmetic - Sturdy - Usable Condition and they Display Beautifully. Note! that One has a had a Very Old "Fastened Splint" Repair to the Underside of the Top Wood Panel - See last Photograph in my Listing. Also One has a Lightly Incised Capitol Letter "W" on the Underside - Possibly a Maker of Family Mark?. I purchased these on one of my Recent Picking Adventures in the Lancaster Valley - Hershey Pennsylvania Region.
Each Measures Overall 9 1/2 inches Tall. The Tops Measure 12 1/2 inches Long x 9 inches Wide.
